The Academy

The Ballett Akademie Bonn, welcomes students of all ages and levels, We offer ballet and modern dance training under a Professional and positive atmosphere where all the students can have the opportunity to experience the joy of dance. Our priorities in every class are quality training in a supportive environment with a focus on the individual.
The Academy originated from the renowned Carole Mare Ballet Studio in Bonn Bad Godesberg and continue under the Direction of Joyce Desiderio von Bühler.
As new Directors, we are happy to present the new Ballett Akademie Bonn and to continue the over 50 years tradition, offering high standard education implementing the school program with new courses and keeping the professional level which existed until now.
We believe that performing is a very important part of the students education and our goal is to give them the possibility to participate in the performances of the academy where they can show their achievements and passion for this art.

Ballet Team

Tina Vasilaki

Owner - Director

Born in Athens, Greece. Started dancing at the age of 9, when it soon became her passion. She studied dance at the professional ballet school of N. Kontaxaki where she graduated with excellent grades. Mrs. Vasilaki acquired a Pedagogical Diploma for Classical and Modern Dance by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
The first professional engagement as a ballet dancer was with the ballet company of the Greek National Opera, dancing classical and modern repertoire. She continued in Germany at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where for 8 years she had the chance and honor to dance important ballets and to work with choreographers with international artistic recognition such as Yuri Vamos, Mats Ek, Uwe Scholz, John Neumeier, Hans van Manen, Jiri Kilian .
Mrs. Vasilaki also had engagements as a choreographer and ballet teacher through Europe and USA. In Germany, she worked as dance teacher with the dance schools of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Tanzhaus Dusseldorf, Rebeltanz Münster, Dance Events Münster, TSC Ibbenbüren and Elegance Cologne and as guest ballet master in the theaters of Würzburg, Dessau and Nordhausen as well as in Florida, USA.
Mrs. Vasilaki is also a founder and director of Dimensions Dance Company (DDC) participating in multiple editions of the Münsteraner Tanzfestival and in collaboration with Tanzspectrum Münster the company had their first alone ballet evening with the title Mozart’s Requiem with music of W.A.Mozart.
In addition, Mrs. Vasilaki is a licensed Pilates trainer from Akademie für Sport und Gesundheit since 2017.
She is also a cerfified PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) Trainer.

Fernando Moraga

Owner - Director

A native of Santiago, Chile. Mr. Moraga began his career with the Ballet Folklorico Nacional de Chile (BAFONA). At the age of 19 he started his ballet training at the school of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago where he studied with Marta Hertz and Claudio Muñoz. During that time he was awarded Third Prize in the First "Elena Poliakova" National Ballet Competition held in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Mr. Moraga soon joined Ballet de Santiago as a member of the Corps de Ballet under the direction of Luz Lorca and quickly rose to the rank of Soloist under the direction of Marcia Haydée and Ivan Nagy.
At the invitation of Artistic Director Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. Mr. Moraga joined Houston Ballet in 1997 and went to be featured in many new works and world premieres.
In 2003 moved on to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre under the direction of Terry Orr and in 2005 joined Ballet Florida under the direction of Marie Hale.
Mr. Moraga also performed as guest artist with different companies around the world and teaching for many ballet schools, universities and ballet companies including in 2011-12 the Artistic Direction of Theatre of Ballet Arts and Ballet Arts Academy in Bristol Virginia. Also, during this time as Ballet Master in the Dance Department at ETSU (East Tennessee State University) in Johnson City, Tennessee USA.
Mr. Moraga from 2015 to 2019 was the Ballet Master at Ballet Chemnitz in Sachsen, Germany.
He is also a cerfified PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) Trainer.
